Jeep’s off roader now has a petrol powertrain. Priced at Rs. 56 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), it joins the diesel version which was launched last year. The petrol Wrangler is now the most affordable model from the jeep currently. Available in range topping variant, this petrol unlimited will be available in Soft top, hard top and no roof options. In the last choice, the SUV comes without doors.
The five-seater petrol Wrangler houses a 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 petrol aluminium unit that makes 284PS of max output@6350rpm and 347Nm of torque@4300rpm. Power is sent to all wheels via 5-speed automatic gearbox and command Trac-shift on-the-fly AWD system. It is rated to deliver an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 8.4 Kmpl. The engine also sports a cooled Gas recirculation (EGR) and new thermal management to deliver better fuel efficiency.
At tape, this rugged SUV measures 4583mm in length, 1877mm in width, 1829mm of height (soft top) and 1860mm (hard top). It sits on the wheelbase of 2947mm and offers 186mm of ground clearance. The petrol version also available in six color shades- Bright white, granite crystal, black, Rhino, Billet silver metallic and Firecracker red.
In terms of features it is same to diesel version and some of the key features include automatic climate control, 6.5 inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, voice commands, Mckinley leather seats, keyless entry, 9-speaker Alpine music system, power heated mirrors, heated and reclining front seats, removable doors, electronic roll mitigation, Hill start assist, ESC, advanced multistage airbags etc.
