Hyundai Xcent facelift has been in the news for days after its specifications leaked; the sedan has been spied on dealership yard. Just as you know, new Xcent will be launched in India on 20th April 2017. The facelifted model had been spotted undisguised unveiling most of the design updates and details about interiors. The fresh images also confirm that Xcent diesel will be getting a new 1.2l diesel engine which was seen on new Grand i10. The current 1.1 litres U2 CRDi diesel engine will be discontinued.

The sub 4m sedan also comes with several cosmetic updates at front and rear. The front grille is now wider and gets the hexagonal shape with five chrome-dipped horizontal slats. The bumper is also tweaked with a black insert with LED daytime running lights. Side remain similar to the ongoing model while the rear gets new split taillights, revised boot lid with thick chrome bar and revamped bumper with black tinge at a lower part.

In dimensions, there will be no change. 2017 Xcent would measure 3995mm in length, 1520mm in width, 1520mm height and has a wheelbase of 2425mm. The boot space and ground clearance stand at 407 litres and 165mm.

As per the leaked spec sheet, new Hyundai Xcent would be available in both petrol and diesel engine options with five variants – E, E+, S, SX and SX (O). The current base trim now rebadged as E trim while new E+ grade will be introduced. The sad part is that Anti-lock braking system (ABS) which was standard earlier would now be offered in the range top SX and SX (O) variants. However dual front airbags and alternator management system (AMS) will be available as across the range.

As expected, the top variants would get new Grand i10 powered 7.0-inch touchscreen system with Apple car play, Android auto and Mirrorlink app connectivity. In addition, it would feature a 2 DIN audio system with 1GB memory, 4 speakers and bluetooth, rear ac vents, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear armrest, front fog lamps, keyless entry with burglar alarm, voice recognition button on the steering wheel, reverse parking camera etc.

With all the fresh look and new features, expect 2017 Hyundai Xcent is likely to start at Rs. 5.45 lakh for the base variant and go up to Rs. 8 lakh (ex-showroom) for the range-topping variant.
