Hyundai recalls 2,437 Santa Fe to replace ‘Stop Lamp Switch’

Hyundai Motor India Ltd has recalled the 2437 units of Santa Fe having Model Year 2011. As per the company, their ‘Stop Lamp Switch(s)’ are needed to be replaced due to potential malfunction. So customers of Santa Fe having Model Year 2011 are needed to bring their cars for the respective change.

As per the company, a service campaign is going to be initiated where every respective owners of Hyundai Santa Fe are invited. The Stop Lamp Switch will be replaced by the company in that campaign without taking any extra charge from the customers.

“Hyundai Motor India will voluntarily recall 2,437 number of Santa Fe vehicles of the 2011 model year in India for the manufacturing period June 26, 2011 to September 26, 2013,” the Indian unit of the South Korean company said in a statement.

This mentioned Stop Lamp Switch is designed near the brake-pedal mechanism and become active on depressing and releasing the pedal.

As company said, “As a responsible manufacturer Hyundai motor India continues to safeguard the safety of its customers and encourage owners of all affected Santa Fe vehicles to take them to authorized Hyundai Dealers. Hyundai Motor India will deliver best service and attention to its customers with its strong service and support network across the country.”

Before this, other car manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, General Motors and Honda had recalled their various models to replace their respective different-different parts. Maruti recalled units of Ertiga MPV, Swift hatch and Dzire sedan to replace broken fuel filler neck while GM recalled various units of Tavera to sort out its emissions and specifications issues. Contrary, Honda has also recalled particular units of selected variants of Amaze and Brio to check brake system defect.
