The Japanese auto major Honda Cars India have discontinued Mobilio MPV owing to poor sales. Honda hasn’t made any official announcement but its official website doesn’t show the MPV. Honda has updated the prices of its lineup post GST which also doesn’t include Mobilio suggesting its discontinuation. The MPV was launched in 2014 but unfortunately, it couldn’t able to match up the expectations and competitors like Maruti Ertiga.

The Mobilio was based on Brio and Amaze sedan’s platform. In addition, it was available with same of engines of City sedan. The petrol segment is taken care by a 1.5l I-VTEC motor 119PS power and 145Nm of high torque. The diesel segment is taken care by a 1.5l I-DTEC motor that makes 100PS power and 200Nm of torque.

Both engines are linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox. In verge to up the sales Honda also introduced the RS version the MPV which came with some cosmetic updates like sportier bumpers, spoiler, projector headlamps etc. But it too failed to make any impact on the buyers.

However, Mobilio had become popular in the fleet market but it wasn’t doing great in the prime segment i.e. private customers.

The production of the car had been stopped quite a while ago. And now dealers across the country have almost sold the remaining stock of the MPV. Earlier this year, the 2017 version Mobilio was introduced and the company also stated that the brand is working on the newer version of Mobilio. However, there is no official confirmation on the statement.
