2015 is a very crucial year for Ford India as they are looking forward to grab more market share in the country this year; to achieve this Ford will launch four new vehicles. Ford will enter the lucrative compact segment with Figo Aspire, followed by new Figo hatchback and later on new Endeavour might be launched. But the surprising element would the launch of mighty Mustang which could come to India by Diwali this year.
The Ford Mustang has been playing around with the sentiments of Indian buyers for a while now, the car enthusiast have been waiting for this Pony car. In 2013 rumors had slated that Ford will launch Mustang in 2015. According to insider source Ford Mustang launch will happen this year. Ford plans to new Mustang in 120 countries that might include India as well.
In current markets such as Sri Lanka, Korea and China are likely to get this Pony car first and let’s hope Indian market will soon witness the arrival of Ford Mustang. Mustang will company’s halo offering and will be brought up via CBU (complete built unit). Ford does not expect big numbers but this ‘Pony car’ should benefit considerably in terms of brand value.
Internationally Ford Mustang is available with following engine options:
- A 2.3L Eco boost based on new technology producing 305bhp power and 406Nm of torque with great fuel efficiency.
- A 3.7L V6 engine developing 300bhp power and 366Nm of peak torque
- A 5.8L V8 petrol motor with 420 of maximum output and 530Nm of peak torque with idle stability and emissions.
It will be interesting which engine makes it to India.
Ford mustang has been one of the most popular supercars in the world which was introduced in 1964 and since then Ford has sold more than 9 million models. New Mustang will arrive in dealerships across Europe for the first time since its inception. Around 9300 buyers in Europe registered to buy to 500 units of new Mustang which was launched in UFEA champions’ league finale which were booked in just 30 seconds.
The 2015 model has been modified with black trapezoidal grille with signature horse logo at the centre, Mustang will be offered in new color shades. In terms of equipments and safety features the buyers would enjoy a SYNC infotainment with 4.2 inch color display screen, intelligent access, push start button, locking glove box, spacious cabin, leather seats, eight airbags, rear view camera, Individual tyre pressure monitoring system and many more features.
