Next GEN Ford Endeavour caught testing in India for the first time

In 2014 Ford Endeavour achieved a unique feat of being in the list of worst cars of the year in terms of sales, Ford managed to sell only 220 units in the entire calendar year. In order to boost up the sales in the country Ford will soon launch the entirely refresh version of Endeavour popularly known as Everest in various international markets.

Ford India has recently imported multiple units of third GEN Endeavour from Thailand to Chennai for R&D purpose. Now, three test mules of new Endeavour have been spotted in Tindivanam, Tamilnadu with minimum camouflage. New GEN Ford Endeavour has gone on sale in Thailand with array of features and two engine options.

Talking about the changes on the outside, Ford Endeavour now looks daunting with wider stance and new design philosophy inspired by Ford’s Kinetic design terminology. New Endeavour features six spoke 18” alloy wheels, Bi-xenon Projector headlamp units, side steps, silver/aluminum skid plates at front and rear, new chic front chrome hexagonal grille.

Even the interiors of new GEN Endeavour likely to boast redesigned central console, dashboard, 8 inch touchscreen and a 10- speaker infotainment system with SYNC technology, sunroof, revised controls for Air conditioner,  60:40 spilt for 2nd row, dual zone climate control  etc.

The new Endeavour would come with number of advanced and high-class safety features such as blind spot information system with cross traffic alert, dual front airbags, side and curtain airbags, park assist, adaptive cruise control, ESP, hill start assist,  roll stability control, lane departure warning system, curve control which helps vehicle to remain composed while corner carving.

The SUV comes with 225m of ground clearance and wading capacity of 800mm which is 50mm less than Range rover.

New Endeavour will be available in two wheel and four wheel drive options with power likely to come from 2.2L TDCI diesel engine that churns out 158bhp power and 385Nm torque with automatic and manual transmissions. The 3.2L TDCI five cylinder diesel engine that produces 197bhp power and 470Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox with 4WD enabled.

The spotted test mule looks identical to the Ford Everest launched in Thailand and it will come via CKD route in the country and will be priced around 25 lakhs (ex-showroom).

New Endeavour to give tough fight to Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero sport and Hyundai Santa Fe and Ford will launch new Endeavour by the end of this year.
