Another recall declaration by one of the most well-known car manufacturing brand in India i.e. Ford India which initiated the recalling action to replace faulty part used in starting the engine with the waterproofed ‘Glow plug control Module’ which are limited to the TDCi engines manufactured between October 2010 and December 2011. Ford has also recalled the EcoSport in July 2013 for the same reason.
In a statement Ford India has said, “We have initiated a field service action to correct a product concern on 3,072 Ford Fiesta TDCi Vehicles, they further added that the dealers will contact the concerned customers to fix an appointment to replace the faulty part free of cost, the company will install the newly designed, waterproof glow plug control Module which is a controlling unit of the glow plug control”. The above mentioned device is a heating device which is used to aid starting diesel engine.
“This is a proactive, voluntary recall action to ensure customers safety and satisfaction and no accidents or injuries related to this concern have been reported”, Company said.
This is not the first time Ford India is following the replacing spree, in July 2013 Ford Eco sport has been recalled for the same, 1.28 lakh units in 2012 and 1.66 units in 2013 of Ford Fiesta and classic has been recalled by Ford to resolve power steering and suspension issues.
Apart from Ford several other companies like Audi which also recalled a batch of its A4 sedans manufactured in November 2011 to October 2014, Mahindra with 2300 units of Scorpio, XUV 500 and Xylo, Honda with 2338 units of Brio, Amaze and CR-V and Toyota recalling 119 Camry over faulty suspension system.
Since July 2012 Over 7 lakh Vehicles have been recalled by several car’ manufactures like Maruti Suzuki, Ford, Toyota, M&M, and Nissan etc thanks to the implementation by SIAM (society of Indian automobile manufactures) over Voluntary vehicle recall over safety related issue.
