Ford has launched a trendy black edition of its compact SUV EcoSport at an introductory price of Rs. 8.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) to further enhance its appeal. The edition is available on three trim levels- trend+, titanium and titanium+. The launch of limited edition is intended to keep SUV competitive against its arch rival Maruti Vitara Brezza which outscored the EcoSport by double margin in April.
The black edition is offered with three engines- 1.5l TDCi diesel that develops 100PS power and 205NM of torque, 1.5l Ti-VCT petrol which is good for 112PS power and 140Nm of torque. There is also a 1.0l EcoBoost engine that belts out an impressive 125PS of output and 170Nm of high torque. Transmission duties are held by a five speed manual and six speed dual clutch automatic gearboxes.
In terms of changes, the black edition sports black outer rear view mirrors, black roof rails, black fog lamps bezels, roof cross bars, 16 inch black alloy wheels and black garnish inside the projector headlamps with signature light guide flanked by black grille. The interiors remain unchanged; the top variants continue to feature with six airbags, SYNC infotainment system with app link, push start button, steering mounted controls, electro chromatic mirrors etc.
