Engine:

Talking about the powertrains, under the hood the car will offer three choices – Smartstream 1.2-liter 4-cylinder petrol, 1.0 T-GDi petrol, and 1.5-liter CRDi diesel. By now you must be aware that Kia Sonet shares its engines with Hyundai Venue. There are five transmission choices — 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed AT, and 7-speed DCT. The 1.5-liter CRDi diesel motor in the Sonet will have a 6-speed AT option, something that you don’t get in the Venue.

Exterior:

Just like other Kia cars, the new Kia Sonet gets a signature ‘tiger-nose’ grille at the front. The grille has a diamond-knurl pattern according to its premium feel. The LED headlamps with the LED DRLs look sporty. The contoured bumper houses the projector fog lamps. The 16-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels in the compact SUV are shod with MRF tires. At the back, the customers will get LED tail lamps that are connected by a reflector strip. The dual muffler combines with a diffuser fin skid plate to add a bold touch to the rear. There are eight monotone and three dual-tone exterior color options.

For interiors, the company has given a rather heavy dashboard. There is no compromise with the quality of material though. The prime attraction is a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system. It has vertically stacked air vents and chrome surroundings with a diamond-knurled pattern. Between the central air vents, there are controls for the automatic climate control. The new Kia Sonet features a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster and multi-function steering wheel. Among the other notable features are Bose premium seven-speaker audio with subwoofer, wireless smartphone charger, push-button start/stop, LED sound mood lighting, smart pure air purifier, and sunroof. Like the Seltos and the Carnival, the Sonnet also gets the UVO technology with as many as 57 connected features.
