BMW launches 740Li DPE Signature in India at Rs 1.26 crore

The German carmaker BMW unveiled new 7 series at 2016 Auto Expo with two engine options- diesel 730 Ld and a petrol 750 Li. Now the company has silently rolled new petrol variant of 7 series called 740Li DPE (Design pure excellence) signature. This is first BMW 7 series petrol model to be locally produced in company’s Chennai plant and you have to shell out Rs. 3 lakh more than the diesel spec variant Rs. 1.26 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).

Talking about the powertrains, the 740Li Design pure excellence houses a 3.0 litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine that puts out 326hp of max output@5500rpm and 450Nm of torque between 1380-5000rpm. The engine is linked to an eight speed Steptronic automatic transmission and comes with air suspension as standard. The sedan can make 0-100km sprint in just 5.6 seconds and capable of delivering an ARAI fuel economy of 12.5 Kmpl.

BMW 7 Series Back

Based on Design Pure Excellence package, 7 series flaunts signature kidney grille, laser LED headlamps LED DRLs, cornering function, adaptive auto high beam function and headlamp washers. Side profile wears 19 inch V spoke alloy wheels, chrome plated window outlines, Outside rear view mirrors (ORVMs) which can be electrically folded, adjusted and has heating function. The rear adorns striking horizontal chrome bar, LED tail lights, L shaped tail light finishers to add to the striking look.

The BMW 740 LIDPE signature can be had in brilliant effect, black sapphire, Cashmere silver, mineral while and imperial blue brilliant effect paint schemes. In terms of goodies and features it is packed with 4-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front and rear seats, BMW gesture control, massage function on the rear seats with eight massage programs, electric blinds for the rear seats, ambient lighting with mood lights, panoramic sunroof with 15,000 illuminated graphic surfaces etc. Other features include dynamic damper control with infinite independent, brake energy regeneration, carbon core construction and much more.
