At the recently held 12th Auto Expo, Skoda unveiled the redesigned model of its trendy SUV Yeti with same mechanical powers. Company is claiming that New Yeti will be launched in India by the second half of this ongoing year 2014. This facelift SUV had already been introduced at Frankfurt Motor show, Germany.
Price:
Though, it is still not disclosed what would be its new price range in India, but the ongoing Yeti India costs at 14.9-16.8 lakhs and we expect the same price with slightly ups and downs.
Engine details:
The renovated Yeti is going to continue with the same engine like its predecessor. It will have same two variants equipped with 2.0 liter 4-inline cylinder diesel engine mated to manual transmission. The above mentioned engine churns out the max output of 108.6bhp as well as 138.1bhp (as per the variants).
The 2.0 liter (108.6bhp) engine is mated with a 5-speed manual and available with front-wheel drive while the 2.0 liter (138.1bhp) is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox and gets all-wheel drive system as standard.
Space & Dimension:
No reportedly changes have been done in this facelift and it will carry the same length, width and height of 4223mm, 1793mm and 1691mm, respectively. It offers seating capacity for five passengers and has ground clearance of 180mm, wheelbase of 2578mm and boot space of 416 liters which also can be extended up to 1485 liters by folding down the rear seats.
Exterior:
Its design elements are customized in black lacquered plastic which includes bumpers, air intakes, under-ride protection, side mouldings and door sills. The Skoda Yeti will get completely new front and rear ends with LED rear lights, new radiator grilles, new bumpers, new front headlights and fog lights, a new bonnet and the new logo. The front end features strong horizontal lines and the powerful upright radiator grille is enclosed by a chrome frame. The new 16” alloy wheels and bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights are also present in this car.
Interior & Safety:
At inside, Skoda’s this SUV has fitted with cruise control, an electronically-adjustable driver’s seats, a multifunction steering wheel, electronic tyre pressure monitoring system and the automatic locking and start system KESSY (Keyless-Entry-Start-and-Exit-System).
Car Zoom’s take:
Undoubtedly, Skoda provides really dashing and attractive models but still somehow lacks in terms of sale, the reason might be its not so proper network developing strategies. Well, once again, Skoda brings some better in the form of its facelift models of Yeti, Superb and Rapid, now it would be interesting to see whether company would meet with its expected sales graph or not.
Werner Eichhorn, Member of the Board responsible for Sales and Marketing says, “India is an important market for SKODA. The SKODA Superb and SKODA Yeti offer that ‘bit more car’ at an affordable price in their segments – now more than ever. This means that the cars meet the needs of Indian customers perfectly.”
