After showcasing various times at various shows, Fiat has finally announced the launch of its premium hatchback 500 Abarth at 12th Auto Expo India. It is one of the most awaited cars of Fiat which took so much time in its launch but now finally company has finalized that this trendy hatchback will hit the market by the end of this year.
Price:
The price range is not confirmed yet but expected to have a quite high tag according to the hatchback category which might between 8.5-9.5 lakhs.
Engine & Performance:
The powered fuel unit in this 500 Abarth is 1468cc, 1.4 liter 4-cylinder inline turbo petrol mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and good for producing the max power of 136bhp while peak torque of 206Nm.
As per its road performance is concerned, company is claiming this car to accelerate 0-100 km/h in mere 7.9 seconds with the top speed of 205km/h.
Space & Dimension:
The 500 Abarth is a five seater hatchback which is 3657mm in length, 1627mm in width and 1485mm in height along with the wheelbase of 2300mm and weight of 1035kg.
Interior & Exterior:
It’s a model which has sporty glimpse. The front of the car looks classy with the enchanting headlamps, there’s a sleek grill at the end of bonnet holding the brand logo. And there’s a large elliptical grill below that bifurcated by rectangular piece of plastic running from one fog lamp to the other. The entire body has a high glossy finish and also an Abarth badge.
The interiors shall be similar to Fiat Linea, with decent upholstery comfy seats, roomy cabin and delighting music system with good sound quality. The car offers a ‘Sport Mode’ for those who want to enjoy that adrenaline rush via speed and speed. It also gets comfort n safety features like sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, seven airbags, ABS with electronic brake distribution (EBD) and hydraulic brake assistance (HBA), parking sensors, fog lights and premium music system etc.

Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and Managing Director of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (Indian operations) stated, “The introduction of the new products in the Indian market is in line with our long strategy, which puts us in a strong position to penetrate into the Indian market. We plan to launch Abarth 500 later this year in India. Initially we would import the car as a completely built unit (CBU) but later on we plan to locally assemble it at our Ranjangaon plant”.
