Auto Expo 2018: Mahindra Thar Wanderlust off-road debuts

Blue Thar Wanderlust grabs many eyeballs at Auto Expo 2018

Mahindra revealed their new custom built vehicle – Thar Wanderlust at Auto Expo 2018. This car is the wildest Thar customization that the company has ever done. It looks similar to Daybreak edition and it appears to be more practical for everyday use. The car features a vivid blue hue for a rugged semblance. Check out what all customization Mahindra has made:

Interior:

Along with the exterior, the interior has also been modified. The Thar has got gull wing style doors on the sides for easy access to the rear seats. It is a four seater car, with standard seats being replaced with sporty Sparco units with 5 point seat belts. The steering wheel gets a beige-brown dual tone finish with leather cladding.

Exterior:

Moving onto exterior details the vehicle comes in electric blue matte paint shade that makes it look bold and the body is extensively modified. The bumpers at the front and rear are the new additions to the car. The front gets a silver shroud with all new projector headlamps with corona ring DRLs. The 33-inch tires on offset steel wheels get custom fenders at the front and the rear has a new front grille. The custom off road comes with a hard top along with marker lights, twin exhausts coming out of both ends and top-mounted wing mirrors. The car also features a snorkel while the bonnet gets a high lift mounted upon it. The rear also has a fuel can.

In the four-wheel drive mode, all the wheels get torque, and the rear axle features a mechanical locking that works automatically by torque sensing. The rear also features unique crevices which can fit into little cans. The back got an off-roading bumper, redesigned tail lamps, and exhaust pipe.

Engine:

The Thar wanderlust remains unchanged on the mechanical part. It has a 2.5-litre CRDe turbo diesel engine with 105 Bhp of peak power and 247Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired along with a 5-speed manual gearbox that drives the rear wheels in two-wheel drive mode.

Price:

Mahindra is still set to announce the prices of the custom job.
