Especially aimed at VVIPs, Politicians and Celebrities, The German automajor has launched A8 L security armored vehicle at the 2016 Indian auto expo. The beast is available at a jaw dropping price of Rs. 9.15 crores (ex-showroom Delhi) and made its global debut at the last year’s Frankfurt motor show alongside Audi’s Prologue concept and performance sportscar R8. It will rival against the BMW 760Li security and Mercedes-Benz S 600 Guard in India.
The Car has been specially designed with armored architecture and it is available to buy on special order and will be brought to India via CBU route. Despite being the armored vehicle, the executive sedan weighs relatively low thanks to extensive use of aluminium.
The fortress car justifies the VR9 ballistic protection standard and loaded with security features like selective door unlocking, emergency fresh air system, fire extinguishing system, 360 degree camera, parking system plus, secondary collision brake assist plus, armored luggage box in the luggage department and patented emergency exit system.
To equalize the security features with luxury it sports special aluminum alloy wheels, balao brown cabin with range of options such as silver refined accents, natural balsamic brown etc. In addition it also boasts of aramid fabric, seat ventilation, ambient lighting with 20 dimming stages, front seats multiple adjustability functions with lumber and under thigh support, four spoke multi function steering wheel, 4-zone automatic climate control, MMI plus with navigation and reverse parking display.
The A8L Security draws the power from two engines, a 4.0 litre TFSI Bi-turbo V8 that delivers 435bhp max power and 600Nm of peak torque alongside a FSI W12 motor which delivers massive 500bhp and high torque of 625Nm. Both gets linked to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and Quattro all wheel drive system as standard. According to Audi, the brute A8 L security can hold 600kg of freight.
