Renault has finally taken the wraps off the updated Duster SUV at the ongoing 2016 edition of Auto Expo. According to Renault, the new Duster comes with as many 32 new design and technical upgrades and one of the major highlighting changes on the SUV is Easy-R six speed automated manual (AMT) gearbox. Renault has a successful last year thanks to Kwid hatchback and already garnered over 1 lakh bookings.
Starting with the aesthetic changes, the front gets an all new twin slat front grille housing Renault’s logo flanked by revised dual barrel headlamps and tweaked front bumper. The restyled alloy wheels finished in gun metal grey color, new roof rails adds a new character to it. Coming to the rear profile where the tail lamps bear new waterfall graphics for the new LED tail lamps. These styling tweaks have been carried over by Brazil spec Dacia aka Duster. Renault has also introduced a new color Cayenne Orange for the facelifted Duster.
Apart from refreshed design, the facelift duster sports a new central console, new seat fabric material, soft touch dashboard, new media NAV touchscreen system, automatic climate control, auto up/down window controls with anti-pinch technology, rear view camera with instructions, electronically adjustable outer rear view mirrors, cruise control with speed limiter and Eco mode.
New Duster will continue to be offered with same range of engines i.e. 1.5l K9K diesel mill in two state of tunes- 85PS and 110PS. The newly introduced easy R-AMT six speed AMT gearbox will be offered with the 110PS unit. Currently Duster is available between Rs. 8.3-13.5 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) but with these upgrades new Duster would cost around Rs. 50,000-80,000 costlier than the ongoing range.
