The General Motors has finally revealed the Spin MPV at the recently concluded Indian auto expo alongside facelifted Cruze, Chevrolet beat Essentia, Colorado and beat Activ. The Chevrolet Pavilion was filled with cars which are set to arrive in Indian market in the coming few years. To be launched in 2017, Chevrolet Spin will be placed between Tavera and Enjoy.
It will be powered by the tried and tested engines of Enjoy MPV .i.e. 1.4 litre petrol developing 107bhp of output and 148Nm of peak torque. There is also a 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine on board that’s good for 90bhp and 200Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Owing to monocoque chassis, the car is expected to deliver class leading fuel efficiency.
The MPV will come with seven seat configuration and measures 4360mm in length, 1735mm in width, 1656mm in height and has a decent wheelbase of 2552mm. The vehicle weighs 1277kg and sits on 191mm of ground clearance.
The exterior glimpse has a Déjà Vu feeling with signature dual port front grille, stretched headlamps, bulgy bonnet and circular fog lamps. The roof bears silver roof rails for the traditional MPV-ish styling while rear is quite simple and sports large wraparound tail lamps.
As far as features goes, it includes a touchscreen infotainment system, rear parking camera with sensors, electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering mounted controls, automatic climate control, 60:40 rear seat spilt, height adjustable driver’s seat etc.
To make cabin premium, it is finished in dual tone beige brown shade, fabric seat upholstery. Expected to be priced between Rs. 6 lakh – Rs 8 lakh, the MPV will take on the likes of Toyota Innova, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Renault Lodgy etc.
