BMW M5 sixth-gen

The high-performance sedan, the all new BMW M5 was launched at Auto Expo 2018. M5 is known for its performance in India and its combination of supercar performance and luxury design sedan formula works well in the country. This latest model has updated version of the previous F10 M5’s 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. The new BMW M5 has some rivals in India- Audi RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback.

Exterior

The exterior of the car is powerful, graceful and has a beautiful aerodynamic refinement. The new six generation BMW M5 features a large kidney grille with double slats and an aluminum bonnet, distinctive air inlets and for the first time, it has a very lightweight and high strength carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof. Also, redesigned rear diffuser; side skirts, M rear spoiler, M rear apron and M sports exhaust system are some of the standard equipment.

Interior

The motive of the interior is to provide controls in all the driving situations. The vehicle has double spoken design M leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons, chrome details, and the M emblem. For a relaxed and cozy atmosphere, the ambient lights are included in the interiors and vicinity illumination is featured in exterior door handles. BMW M is a mixture of sporty look with its stainless steel footrest and exclusive business interior.

The new M5 has multifunction sports seats with illuminated M5 logo and M seat belts reinforce the car’s athleticism with multiple adjustment options allowing maximum comfort. The standard BMW Individual headliner in Alcantara Anthracite and the BMW Individual fine-wood trim Sen light brown, BMW Individual fine-wood trim plum brown high-gloss with highlight trim finisher Pearl Chrome, and BMW Individual interior trim finishers piano finish Black are an absolute rarity that complete this significant and prestigious ensemble.

For a better sound experience, the all-new BMW M5 features a wide range of BMW Connected drive systems like BMW iDrive Touch, BMW navigation System Professional, 16 loudspeakers with 600 wats from Harman Kardon, BMW apps, Apple car play and Wilkins system.

Engine

The new BMW car has a powerful M TwinPower Turbo-8 cylinder petrol engine. It delivers an exceptional output of 441 kW/600 hp at 5,600- 6,700 rpm and an incredible peak torque of 750 Nm. The boost in performance pushes the car from 0 to 100 Km/hr in just 3.4 seconds for the ultimate adrenaline kick.

Safety

For absolute safety, the BMW M5 is equipped with head and side airbags for driver and front passenger along with head airbags for rear seats. The standard equipment includes Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Anti-lock braking system, M Dynamic Mode, Cornering Brake control, Automatic Stability Control, and Active M differential. DSC with M xDrive enhances the safety aspect of the car.

Price & color

The all-new six generation BMW M5 is available in a petrol variant at an ex-showroom price of INR 1,44,90,000. It is available in Alpine White color in various metallic paintworks: Black Sapphire, Marina Bay Blue metallic, Snapper Rocks Blue, Donington Grey, Bluestone metallic and Singapore Grey. Also, it is available in special paint finishes.
