In March this year, Toyota’s luxury division ‘Lexus’ marked its entry in India with ES300h, RX450h and LX 450d. However, the company disclosed the prices of ES 300h and RX 450h only, and said prices of LX 450d would be revealed at a later stage. Now, finally Lexus has announced the prices of its luxury SUV LX 450d which comes at a pocket burning price of Rs. 2.32 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). The car will compete with Mercedes-Benz GLS, Audi Q7 and Range Rover Vogue.
Available in the single top of the line model, LX450 d measures at 5080mm in length x1980mm in width x1865mm in height making it 285mm longer and 125mm wider than a Toyota Fortuner. With ground clearance of 225mm, the SUV has an approach angle of 25 degrees and departure angle of 23 degrees.
Based on Toyota Land Cruiser, LX flaunts unmistakably Lexus elements with familiar Lexus front grille, LED headlamps with L-shaped LED daytime running lights. Sides feature old school design with flared wheel arches, sloping roofline and 18 inch alloy wheels. Rear flows with the wrap around LED tail lamps.
Interior highlight includes plethora of leather and wood treatment, four-zone automatic climate control, moon roof, wireless charging, ambient illumination, power boot lid, electric adjustment function for front seats. It also sports a 12.3 inch touchscreen infotainment accompanied by a 19-speaker Mark Levinson audio system and rear entertainment screens. It also comes with, 10 airbags, four camera multi terrain monitor, park assist, brake assist, CRS, ABS, vehicle stability control, rain sensing wipers and seats with pre-tensioners and force limiters.
Power comes from a 4.5l twin turbo V8 diesel engine that churns out 261bhp power and 650Nm of torque. Transmission duties are taken care by a six speed automatic with artificial intelligence that sends power to all wheels via AWD system. The brawny engine propels SUV to make 0-100 km/hr sprint in just 8.6 seconds while clocking a top speed of 210 Km/hr. Lexus claims that the LX450d will return 9.6 Kmpl (ARAI rated).
