The jeep brand was the focus of attention at Fiat’s Pavilion at 2016 Auto expo but the Italian carmaker did manage to grab the attention through Avventura Urban Cross and Linea 125s. Fiat has showcased the powerful version of Linea named as 125s which will be launched in the 2nd Quarter in India and prices are expected to be slightly higher than the standard variant.
The Fiat Linea 125S to be powered by a 1.4l Turbocharged T-Jet petrol mill that churns out 123bhp power@5000rpm as compared to 114hp on the standard version while torque has also been marginally bumped up to 210Nm@2200rpm. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Talking about the changes, the high powered version moreover remains same as standard Linea albeit few aesthetic changes like automatic headlamps, piano black grille, black roof top, new 16 inch alloy wheels in black shade, black outer rear view mirror (ORVMs) with turn indicators to make it sportier.
On the inside, it gets a piano black finish central console, ambient mood lighting, a 5 inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, USB, Aux-in, bluetooth connectivity. For safety it will be equipped with features such as Cruise control, dual stage airbags for the front passengers, Anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), cruise control, engine immobilizer etc as standard.
The Fiat Linea 125s will be available in only one color shade i.e. Safire Blue with contrast Black treatment. The sedan will be manufactured locally at company’s Ranjangaon plant at Pune and it will compete with Honda City and Hyundai Verna.
