After officially revealing the Ertiga facelift at GIIAS a couple of months ago, Maruti has finally launched it in India. The new Ertiga has been launched for a price range of Rs. 5.99-9.25 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) and this is the first facelift for the MPV since its advent in 2012. To make it more aggressive and competitive new Ertiga comes with plethora of changes like an automatic gearbox and SHVS diesel hybrid technology seen on Ciaz sedan. Here is everything you need to know about Ertiga facelift.

Price:

Maruti Suzuki has marginally increased the price of new Ertiga; it starts at Rs. 5.99 lakh for the base LXi petrol trim which goes up to Rs. 8.26 lakh for the top Vxi AT variant. On the contrary, the diesel hybrid starts at Rs. 7.55 lakh for base variant LDi while the top of the line Zdi+ comes for Rs. 9.25 lakh. Interestingly, ZDi and VDi variants are Rs. 3000 and 13000 economical than the current Gen model.

Engine details:

Though available with same set of petrol and diesel engines seen of current Ertiga, the facelift boasts of polished and retuned engines. The diesel engine now comes with SHVS (Smart hybrid vehicle by Suzuki) technology while it still delivers same 89bhp of max power@4000rpm along with 200Nm of peak torque@1750rpm. It is available with the same 5-speed manual gearbox.

The new Smart hybrid technology features idle start stop button which shuts down the engine when it is idle state and it starts again as clutch is pressed by the driver. It is also available with Torque assist function which improves overall functioning and performance of the engine. Brake energy that regenerate wasted energy to its electric system resulting in improved acceleration and greater fuel efficiency.

As a result of smart hybrid technology, the fuel efficiency of diesel has been improved by 18 percent and now it delivers an ARAI certified mileage of 24.52 KMPL.

Power on new Ertiga comes from the same 1.4L 4-cylinders K series VTVT engine that churns out max power of 91bhp@6000rpm and 130Nm of torque@4000rpm. Like its diesel counterpart, petrol too has been reworked to develop more mileage and as a result it now offers 17.5 KMPL which is better by 9 percent. The petrol is paired to five speed manual gearbox as standard while the Vxi trim is available with a 4-speed automatic unit.

Exterior and Interior:

The facelifted Ertiga has retained the overall Silhouette of the current gen model while getting some major revisions on the design. Front fascia is now induced with a new three slate chrome grille, tweaked bumpers with integrated Fog lamps flanked by chrome brows. Side profile remains same except for the new stylish alloy wheels to enhance the road presence while rear gets a thick chrome appliqué embossed with ‘Ertiga’ moniker and bumpers have been given a mild touch too.

To fresh things up, Maruti has given a brown beige treatment to new Ertiga. 2015 Ertiga now features a 7 inch Smartplay infotainment system with voice guided navigation, reverse parking display, mirror link system and bluetooth connectivity taken from S-Cross and Ciaz. You also get revised upholstery for the seats and door trims, 50:50 spilt for third row seats, accessory socket for the 2nd row, electrically foldable ORVMs, button start with smart key and keyless entry.

Colors:

Apart from present color shades of Granite Grey, Serene blue, Superior while and Silky Silver, Maruti is offering facelifted Ertiga in two new shades which are Pearl Blue Haze and Radiant beige.

Safety:

To up the safety quotient of the vehicle, Maruti is offering drive side airbag, seat belt with pretensioners and force limiters as standard across all variants. Front passenger side airbag is available as an option on base LXi and LDi variants while remaining get it as standard. ABS (Anti-lock braking system) is also come as standard on all variants save for the base LXi, where it is optional.

Higher variants also sports reverse parking camera with display aid, EBD (Electronic brake force distribution), rear parking sensors, front fog lamps, security alarm, brake assist add to the safety quotient of the vehicle.
