Mercedes Benz is all set to launch B-class facelift on 11 March 2015 with an array of changes to both exterior and interior, this facelifted model made its debut in 2014 Paris motor show. Mechanically it will remain same and Mercedes will continue to bring it as a CBU (Completely Build unit) in the country because company hasn’t confirmed its local production at the Chakan plant.
Talking about the changes B-Class facelift gets new LED projector headlamps with daytime running lights, revised front bumper, wider radiator, new fog lamp housing, two slate chrome grille flaunting 3-star logo of Mercedes gives new B-class more dynamic look.
New B-Class now has new alloy wheels on offer a buyer can choose between 16 and 17 inch tyres while rear profile of facelifted B-class now sports a new LED bi-color tail light cluster, integrated exhaust tail pipes, reworked bumper.
Inside the cabin B-class will receive an all new instrument cluster, new steering wheel from C-class, central head up display with two size options- 7 and 8 inch, push start stop button, ambient LED lighting with 12 color choices.
It is expected that Mercedes will continue to offer new B-class in three trims- Style, Urban and AMG line and might offer three additional kits which are night, exclusive and AMG exclusive.
Mercedes Benz B-class will be available in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The B200 CDI diesel variant would produce maximum output of 107bhp while petrol variant B180 continues to boast 1.6L engine that produces 120bhp power. Both the engines come mated to a 7G-tronic automatic transmission.
It’s not clear that the company would offer 4-matic all wheel drive system with B-class facelift or not though in international markets like Europe it is offered in 4×4-drive train. In Germany base B-180 petrol variant is available at EUR 27,102 approx 20.74 lakh INR.
Mercedes Benz B-Class enjoys monopoly in its segment, as there is no product from any of the competitor in this segment. Expect more details on new B-class on March 11 2015.
