Considering the popularity and demand of Maruti’s recently launched Celerio, company has upgraded this car by equipping a CNG variant in it. However, customers were expecting diesel fuel but Maruti decided to make the Celerio Green first. This Celerio Green (as company named it) surely assures sales hike with its more fuel efficient nature while ongoing Celerio petrol already has gained a noticeable sales figure, especially for its AMT variant.

Price:

As per the company, this Celerio Green is available only in VXi trim and carries price tag of 4.68 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) and 4.93 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Engine details:

The Celerio Green is powered by same 998cc, 1.0 liter 3-cylinder K-series mill like its petrol variant but will develop the comparatively reduced max power of 58bhp while the petrol trim offers 67bhp. This CNG equipped Celerio is mated only to a 5-speed manual gearbox, there is no report by the company yet regarding CNG with auto transmission.

As per the company, the claimed fuel efficiency of Celerio Green is 31.79 km/kg.

Space & Dimension:

The Celerio Green retains similar dimensions of its ongoing model which is 3600mm in length, 1600mm in width and 1560mm in height along with wheelbase of 2425mm and ground clearance of 165mm.

Interior & Exterior:

As mentioned above, the Celerio Green is available only in VXi trim which lies between Celerio’s base and top-end trims.

At inside, manual AC with heater, central locking, power steering with power windows are some standard features equipped in it.

In its exterior profile, it gets features like body colored bumpers, chrome grille and full wheel covers etc.

Safety:

On the grounds of safety, it gets immobilizer and child proof rear door locks etc while most required features like front airbags and ABS are missing from VXi trim.

Verdict:

Currently, Maruti offers CNG variant in its other line up like Alto 800, Wagon R and Ertiga etc and now in Celerio. It’s really a clever step by company as it will not only give a fuel economic option to its customers but also hike the sales graph of company as well.
