British luxury Sports car maker Aston Martin is celebrating 60glorious years at the historic home of the company- Newport Pagnell by building six limited edition sports cars. All the six bespoke cars will be base on current Gen Aston martin Vanquish in either Coupe or Volante form. The 60th Anniversary edition can be easily differentiated by number of elements like trim and paint colors.
All six cars will be different from each other and will reflect subtle changes to reproduce the magic of sixty year journey of Aston Martin, according to the company six pistons have been drawn from the engines in the following Newport Pagnell cars:-
- 1955-1965- DB 2/4 Mk II Saloon
- 1965-1975- DB5
- 1975-1985-V8 Coupe
- 1985-1995- V8 Vantage X-pack
- 1995-2005- V8 Vantage Supercharged
- 2005-2015- Original Vanquish
Aston Martin Works Commercial Director, Paul Spires, said: “This project has been a harmonious co-operation across the whole business, developed uniquely to celebrate 60 years of Aston Martin Works at Newport Pagnell. I’m thrilled to be unveiling the first of these cars at our Christmas celebration, and look forward to seeing the remaining models being built and delivered to customers throughout the course of our anniversary year in 2015.”
He further added, “We’re not aware of any other manufacturer having attempted anything like this before,” said Spires.”I can tell you why – it’s because it’s incredibly difficult.”
These limited edition cars to get power from 6.0L V12 petrol engine which produces 568bhp power along with 630Nm of peak torque mated to an eight speed touch tronic III automatic transmission. 60th Anniversary limited edition can accelerate 0-100 km in just 3.6 seconds with the top speed of 322 km/hr.
Features of these limited edition cars include side strakes with anniversary yellow shade accents, unique color and trim treatment includes contrast yellow stitching on leather seats, white-black duotone seat centre panels, new heavy weave carbon fiber and work anniversary logo on various places inside the cabin. Aston Martin has not disclosed about the price of vehicle so far.
