The new launched entry level hatchback Redi-GO has facilitated Datsun to become one of the fastest growing carmaker in June 2016. The Japanese carmaker has delivered 3000 units in just 23 days of its launch enabling them to register a remarkable growth of 188 percent in June 2016 against same month in corresponding year. The company sold a total of 4297 units last month setting a new record.
Starts at a handy price of Rs. 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the hatchback is trying to replicate success of its cousin Renault Kwid which has crossed 1.25 lakh booking mark in the country. The car comes with 2 years standard warranty which can be further extended to another 2 to 3 years by opting for optional warranty package which includes free roadside assistance.
The Redi-Go draws power from a 0.8 litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 53bhp of max output@5678rpm and 72Nm of torque@4386rpm. The engine is linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox and delivers class leading fuel efficiency of 25.17 KMPL. It also claims to hit a ton from a standstill in just 15.1 seconds with 140 km/hr as top speed.
Based on new CMA-F platform, it measures 3429mm in length, 1560mm in width, 1541mm in height and sits on the wheelbase of 2348mm. The car also offers best in class ground clearance of 185mm and segment first LED daytime running lights (DRLs) available only on top spec variant. Other features include an optional driver side airbag, audio system with USB and Aux-in, front power windows and power steering. Reportedly, the redi-go will soon receive an automated manual transmission (AMT) and 1/0 litre petrol engine.
