Toyota motor has launched facelifted Vios in Thailand with a price range of THB 6, 09,000 (approx Rs. 11.76 lakh) – THB 789,000 (approx Rs.15.23 lakh), priced increased by THB 40,000 (Rs. 70,000). 2017 Vios sees changes in both outside and inside, similar to US bound Camry hybrid. It is very likely that new Vios might be launched in India soon. It gets six color options Quartz brown metallic, red mica metallic, attitude black mica, gray metallic, super white and silver metallic.
Coming to the changes, new Vios received projector headlights with integrated LED lights, new dynamic T shaped front grille, reshaped bumper with LED DRLs at each corner, wider air intake and new fog lamps. The facelift gets 15/16 inches alloy wheels and chrome door handles. Rear can be seen with new LED lights, new body graphics, and chrome boot lid with fluid fog lamps.
Inside, Vios sports updated instrument cluster, new 7 inch touchscreen system with navigation and Smartphone connectivity, keyless entry, leather/fabric upholstery, automatic climate control and four interior themes depending on the variants. For Safety, it comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX seats, brake assist, reverse parking camera, vehicle stability control with traction controls etc.
The facelifted Vios is powered by a 2NR FBE 1.5l dual VVT-I engine that delivers 108bhp of max power@6000rpm and 140Nm of torque@4200rpm. Power is transmitted to front wheels via seven speed automatic CVT gearbox. However India spec variant could get Etios powered 1.5l petrol and 1.4l diesel engines with manual gearbox as standard and optional CVT gearbox.
If launched in India, new Vios will take on Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento.
