Porsche Boxster 718 and Cayman India launch on 15th February

It’s going to be a Happy Valentine’s day for Porsche aficionados as 718 series Cayman and Boxster will be launched in India on 15 February 2017 which was first unveiled in 2016. While official launch is some days away, bookings and deliveries are already commenced. Reportedly, Cayman 718 starts from Rs. 80.86 lakh while Boxster 718 will be available at Rs. 84.72 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom Mumbai.

Porsche has given series of cosmetic changes such as wider side and front air intakes, revamped side skirts, retuned chassis, tweaked headlamps with Bi-Xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights and optional full LED headlights. Cabin also feature latest infotainment system, 918 Spyder based multi function steering wheel and range of upholstery options. Porsche will also be offering plethora of customization options.

However the biggest change come under the hood as Porsche has replaced six cylinders engine with 2.0l turbocharged ones. Both Boxster and Cayman 718 will come powered by a 2.0 litre turbo petrol units that makes 296bhp power and 380Nm of torque, linked to a six speed manual as well as dual clutch PDK automatic gearbox. The MT powered 718 can sprint 0-100km in just 5.1 seconds while automatic does the same in 4.9 seconds and 4.7 seconds with Sport chrono package. Both are capable of achieving a top speed of 275 km/hr.

Besides, Porsche will be launching second generation Panamera in India in March this year. Expect 2017 Panamera to come at Rs. 1.9 crore for the standard turbo while executive turbo will cost at Rs. 2.1 crore (ex-showroom).  It will be launched with wide range of petrol and diesel engines while the hybrid version is slated for early 2018.
