Fiat has been trying to launch the Jeep brand in India since ages and whenever one thought of it coming to the Indian showrooms, the launch plans were put on hold and that too quite a few times now. At the 2016 Auto Expo, Jeep showcased range of cars including Cherokee, Wrangler, Renegade and Cherokee SRT which indicated that Jeep brand might finally arrive to Indian market this year. In addition, alongside these models Jeep Wrangler unlimited has also been showcased which is scheduled to get launched in the mid 2016 in India.

After the unveiling the off roader has been spied many times on Indian roads, the car will be brought to India via CBU route but if Jeep gets warm response from the buyers who knows that they might produce it locally. The Jeep wrangler is expected to price in the range of Rs. 20-25 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The car carries a timeless design that replicates Jeep’s legacy and flaunts signature jeep grille, squarish headlights, big contrasting bumper with integrated fog lamps, huge flared wheel arches. The Wrangler unlimited gets removable hardtop like the three door version that keep up with the design. Rear too showcases the traditional jeep image with tail mounted spare wheel.   

Step inside and get welcomed by decent interiors flanked by range of features which includes a touchscreen infotainment system with USB chargers, chic central console, circular AC vents, nice cushy seats, tri spoke steering wheel with controls for audio, calls and cruise control. You also get black interiors with mud color touch all around which add to the premiumness.

The brawler will be loaded with safety features like dual airbags, stability control, post collision system, ABS, engine immobilizer, anti theft alarm system and much more.

The Jeep Wrangler unlimited will be powered by a 2.8L turbo charged diesel engine that develops close to 200PS of max power and 460Nm of torque, paired to a five speed manual gearbox. The car can accelerate 0-100km/hr in 10.2 seconds with the top speed around 200km/hr.
