Audi India is all set to launch A6 facelift in India in a span of couple of days and it has released the teaser on Social media platform unveiling the new A6. Being revealed in October last year at the Paris motor show, the facelift A6 comes with several cosmetic changes inside with no mechanical changes. The new model is expected to be priced between Rs. 45-60 lakhs (ex-showroom) and will lock its horns against Jaguar XF, Mercedes-Benz E class and BMW 5 series.
Speaking of the changes, the biggest change Audi is endorsing about is the LED matrix headlamp set up with dynamic turn indicators which are already on offer with Audi RS 6 Avant and A8L. Apart from Matrix headlamp technology, new A6 receives restyled bumpers, a new single frame front grille, new alloy wheels. At rear, the revamped taillights get the spilt LED design, along with chrome strip running on boot lid and twin chrome exhausts.
The more prominent changes come inside the cabin of 2015 A6 with new upholstery, updated 8 inch infotainment system with MMI navigation plus and powerful Nvidia Tegra 30 graphics Chip. New Audi A6 would get a new dashboard and message and ventilation feature for the leather seats.
For India, Audi will stick to the current range of engines, so it will be powered by a 2.0l TFSI petrol engine which produces 177bhp of max output@4000-6000rpm and 320Nm of torque between 1500-3900rpm. There is also a 2.0l 35 TDI diesel motor with two states of tunes– 150PS and 190PS. Both the engines will be paired to a six speed manual or a multi tronic CVT gearbox that sends power to front wheels of the car. It is not clear that if Audi will offer Quattro AWD system on the facelift A6 in India or not.
The company would continue to offer adaptive air suspension system as standard equipment with many more advanced safety features like reverse parking camera with night vision and driver assistance programs. Audi will be launching 10 new products in India this year and A6 is one of the biggest and important launches for the carmaker.
