The King of entry level segment cars in India Maruti Suzuki has launched a limited edition of its bestselling vehicle Alto 800. India’s largest car maker has rolled out an ‘Alto 800 ONAM’ limited edition for the auspicious festival celebrated in the southern part of India. The company delivered around 3000 cars from different segments on the first day of Malayalam month ‘Chingam’ out of which 1000 were Alto.
ONAM is probably the most important festival in the region so MSIL wants to capitalize on it with the launch of limited edition. Besides Maruti, Volkswagen is also offering some discounts and offers on Vento and Polo in Kerala with a gold coin on every booking as a part of Gold offers scheme. In addition, with every booking of Polo VW is offering 3 year free insurance, 3 year annual maintenance and 3 year extended warranty.
The ONAM limited edition comes with 15 additional new features which include a music system with speakers, embroidered cushions, reverse parking sensors, design seat covers and Onam graphics and decals on the outside to name a few. While the features like air conditioning with heater, engine immobilizer, digital clock, power steering etc are carried forward from a standard model.
Since it’s a limited edition, the vehicle remains mechanically unaltered, it continue to get power from a 796cc, 3-cylinder petrol motor developing 47bhp power@6000rpm and 69Nm of peak torque@3500rpm coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The limited edition is offered to customers with a premium amount of Rs. 17,350 (ex-showroom Delhi) over the standard Alto 800 model which is said to be 26% less costly compared to original accessories available at the dealerships.
