Toyota Fortuner records 5400 bookings; waiting period extends

The new generation Toyota Fortuner was launched on 7th November, 2016 in India and since then 5400 bookings and 16,000 enquiries have been received by Toyota. The retailers are already reporting a minimum waiting period of two months for both petrol and diesel engines. For the first ever in Fortuner’s history it was launched in petrol powertrain, new Fortuner carry a price tag of Rs. 25.92 lakh which go all the way to Rs. 31.12 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Expressing his views on this remarkable milestone, Mr. N. Raja, Director & Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “We are overwhelmed with the response that the new Fortuner has garnered in just two weeks’ time since its launch. We have noticed a significant customer preference towards the automatic transmission and trying our best to deliver the product to the customer at the earliest so that they don’t have to wait too long.

The new iteration of Fortuner is offered six variants and Innova Crysta powered 2.7-litre petrol engine or a 2.8-litre diesel engine. The petrol delivers 164bhp@5200 and 245Nm of torque@4000rpm and can be had either in 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Oil burner diesel is good for 174bhp of max power@3400rpm and torque goes to 450Nm between 1600-2400rpm. This engine comes mated with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.

New Toyota Fortuner is leap ahead of its previous generation when it comes to interior quality and features. The Butch SUV gets touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, start/stop button, 60:40 spilt for 2nd row seats, new TFT instrument cluster, electric tailgate, eight way power adjust front seats and much more.
