Toyota Fortuner 2.5L entry level variant launched at Rs. 24.44 lakh

Toyota’s long awaited 2.5L variant finally makes its way at the starting price of Rs. 24.44 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Yesterday Toyota Kirloskar motors has launched the automatic variant of 4×4 Rs. 26.59 lakh which now sits as a top variant of Fortuner. This entry level variants get 2.5L engine of Innova but with more power and torque and it will be available in TRD sportivo package.

New 2.5L variant is amiable only in 2WD option with no four wheel drive option. The 4×2 manual variant is available at Rs. 24.44 lakh and 4×2 AT variant cost a Rs. 25.44 lakh, prices are ex-showroom Delhi. 2.5L is supposed to be more affordable offering of Fortuner but it costs around the base variant of 3.0L variant.

This base variant of Fortuner is powered to a 2.5L 2494 cc diesel engine which is able to produce 142bhp power@3400rpm and 343Nm of peak torque@1600-2800rpm coupled to a 5 speed manual or 5 speed automatic gearboxes.

This 2.5L variant gets most of the features which are available on 3.0L variant except the features like cruise control, HID headlamps and navigation system with voice recognition system misses out.

The base variant of 2.5L Fortuner is available with TRD (Toyota racing development) Sportivo kit which features body graphics, new front dual tone radiator grille, roof mounted rear spoiler, side skirts, TRD sportivo badge at rear, rear camera, dual shade front-rear bumpers, smoked halogen headlamps with manual leveling  and LED taillights etc.

New Fortuner is available in two body paint options only – Silver metallic and Super white.

On the inside, this SUV gets electrically adjustable driver seats, leather wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, automatic climate control, rear A/C vents, touchscreen display, ABS, dual front airbags and premium leather seats as standard.
