Skoda is planning another Festive delight with Rapid Facelift in October 2014

Czech automaker Skoda is planning another launch this year introducing facelift of one of their most successful car in India, ‘Rapid’. Skoda Rapid sedan to be launched in October that means another festive season treat is coming for the car lovers. Skoda is moreover concentrating now on their New Yeti which is coming on 10th of September 2014. So Skoda is aiming to give tough competition to other companies which are planning to launch their cars just at that time.

New Skoda rapid will get 1.5L TDI Diesel engine which we have seen in Polo hatchback and will also see in Upcoming Volkswagen Vento. Rapid facelift will also power with 1.2L TSI engine.  1.5L TDI diesel engine will be sub divided into two engine options i.e. 88.8 BHP power, 220nm torque with manual transmission/gearbox and another will produce 104BHP power and 250nm torque which is mated with direct shift gearbox (DSG).

Skoda Rapid facelift will also have 148BHP Petrol automatic transmission variant which might be coupled with 7 speed DSG transmission. Skoda is now focusing on value for money concept which we have seen in its previous cars Superb and Octavia facelifts. The company is also concentrating on premiumness of its products whether it’s interior or outer appearance.

As we discussed about changes Rapid facelift will also some changes though not major but it will get some. Talking about the exteriors it will get new projector headlamps with inside black color, Black color grille, new bonnet and also a body kit.

From price point of view Rapid facelift will cost more than the current ongoing Rapid but it will be slight lesser than the Vento facelift. Skoda should price it aggressively in order to be a competitive car among the segment.

Skoda rapid will lock its horns with Honda city, Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Vento.
