Mercedes-Benz E-Class ‘Edition E’ Front

To commemorate 20 years of E-class in India, Mercedes Benz has launched the special of the luxury saloon christened as ‘Edition E’ with the starting price of Rs. 49.60 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The E-class is company’s highest selling model in India with over 32,000 units on road since it advent in 1995 and it also holds of being first luxury ‘Made in India’ car.

Engine Details:

The Mercedes-Benz Edition E is mechanically similar to the standard model and powered by the same powertrains. The E200 is fuelled by a four cylinder 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 184PS@5500rpm of max power and 270Nm of peak torque while the E250 CDI gets 2.1 litre diesel mill producing output of 204PS@4200rpm power and 500Nm of torque. The top of the line E350 CDI draws the power from a 3.0 Litre V6 motor that belts out 265PS power@3800rpm and 540Nm of high torque and can attain 250km/hr as top speed. All the engines are paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission and transmit power to rear wheels.

Space and Dimensions:

Dimensions wise, it is same as standard model and measures 4879mm in length, 2071mm in width, 1474mm on height and sits on the wheelbase of 2874mm.

Colors:

The Mercedes-Benz E-class Edition E is available in total of eleven graceful color shades- Diamond Silver Metallic, Diamond White, black, Iridium Silver metallic, Obsidian black metallic, Cavansite blue metallic, tenorite grey metallic, Dolomite brown, Polar white, Covelline blue and Hyacinth red metallic.

Exterior and Interior:

To differentiate from the standard counterpart, the special edition receives Edition E badging, single slat grille with illuminated three point logo, full LED headlamps, special black alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, fibre optic tail lamps with flash during emergency braking system.

On the inside, it bears various new attributes such as THERMOTRONIC automatic air conditioning; 8 inch touchscreen system with SD card based Garmin navigation system and MB apps integration, command system for controls, Harmon Kardon audio system with 14 speakers with Dolby digital 5.1, electrically adjustable front seats with three memory function and rear seat entertainment system.

Safety:

In the safety segment, the car is packed with features like eight airbags, NECK PRO head restraints for front passengers that can be activated in case of rear impact, adaptive braking lights with red signal light warning, active park assist with rear camera as standard.
