Facelifted Maruti Suzuki Swift and Dzire

If rumors are to be believed then Maruti Suzuki is going to launch the facelift versions of its two best selling models Swift (hatchback) and Dzire (sedan). The largest car maker of India is expected to unveil the same at Auto Expo 2014. Being a top leading brand of India, company is feeling it as its responsibility to bring something new for its customers time to time to maintain its position in car market.

Price:

Due to the addition of more luxury features to their top-end variants, the price is expected to be hiked by Rs. 50,000 to 60,000 (only in top most trims). Currently these cars carry the price tag of 5.65-5.86 lakhs (Swift) and 5.99-6.84 lakhs (Dzire) (ex-showroom Delhi).

Engine details:

Reportedly, no mechanical changes are done in these trendy cars. Both the cars continue with the same engine powers which are 1197cc, K-Series VTVT petrol engine (85.8bhp, 114Nm) and 1248cc, DDiS Diesel engine (74bhp, 190Nm). The main and major difference between these cars is that one is hatchback while another is a compact sedan.

Space & Dimension:

While both the cars offer seating capacity for five passengers, their dimension differs because of their different body types, no changes has been done in their facelift models’ dimension, though.

Swift is 3850mm long, 1695mm wide & 1530mm tall along with the wheelbase of 2430mm and clear height of 170mm, while Dzire is 3995mm long, 1695mm wide & 1555mm tall with wheelbase and clear height of 2430mm and 170mm, respectively.

Interiors & Exteriors:

Company’s main aim behind this facelift launch is to make these models more luxury and premium, so that more customers could attract towards them. Hence, these models get major changes in its interior as well as exterior.

Reportedly, more luxury equipments are being added only in their two top-end variants i.e. ZXi and ZDi. The expected list of newly added features is:

  • LEDs daytime running
  • Cruise Control
  • 16” alloy wheels
  • Keyless entry with start/stop button
  • Classy dual tone dashboard
  • New and attractive leather wrapped steering wheel
  • Auto up/down feature at driver-side power window
  • Renovated front grille
  • Renovated front bumpers

With this New Year, every car maker is planning to refine the models to give them a fresh look to attract the customers and hike the sales. In this queue, Maruti Suzuki is also ready with a bang. Customers in India already appeals Swift and Dzire very much and now when it will come with facelift, it would definitely give a tougher fight to its rivals than before. In Indian car market, Swift competes with Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Beat etc while Dzire’s rivals consist of Honda Amaze etc.
