Mercedes-Benz’ last product for this year is all set to break cover on 8th December 2015 in the form of facelift A-Class. Mercedes-Benz revealed the new GEN A-class in June this year at Frankfurt motor show and after 6 months it is making its way to the Indian market. This will be company’s 15th and final product under ’15 in 15’ strategy adopted by Mercedes for Indian market this year.

A- Class, the most affordable and smallest car in company’s line up, was launched in May 2013 and helped to tackle Mini and BMW in the country. For India, changes are only restricted to cosmetic ones and the facelift grows on its already sporty stance. BMW won’t alter the mechanical of the new GEN model.

At the front, it gets reworked front bumper, large air intakes, revised three star logo and revamped headlight units with LED DRLs and optional LED headlamps. Side remains exactly the same as current model except for new 5-spoke alloy wheel pattern and blacked out ORVM to lend sportier appeal. Move to the rear, it sports reworked bumper with integrated twin tail exhausts, new LED taillight prototype and a diffuser.

Coming to the interiors, the new GEN A-class will receive 8 inch infotainment system with support for Apple car play, Android auto, mirror link and updated command system (seen on CLA/GLA), new color themes, ambient mood lighting with 12 colors and different dimming levels, revised upholstery and new three spoke steering wheel with plethora of control buttons.

The new A-Class will be offered in two trim levels- A180 Petrol which comes with 1.6l engine good for 121bhp power and 200Nm of peak torque and another will be A200 that houses 2143cc 2.0l Diesel unit delivers 134bhp power and 300Nm of torque. Both the engines will continue to be paired with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The car might feature dynamic select technology which allow driver to choose from four driving modes- comfort, Sport, Eco and individual.

A-Class will continue to be brought into the country via CBU route and expected to be price in the range of Rs. 28-30 lakh (ex-showroom).
