Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift enters production; launch in 2017

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift

The premium crossover S-Cross hasn’t been doing well on the sales front at least in India as it isn’t accepted by Indian mass. One of the core reasons it didn’t set sales chart on Fire is the premium pricing along with Quirky front design. The facelift of the crossover was spotted on foreign shores sometime back and now new images suggest that the car has entered into the production. The new model is expected to make debut at Paris motor show in October and soon after it will make its way to India.

The mid cycle update includes a total new front fascia with revised bonnet with large radiator grille with vertical chrome slates, wider and aggressive front bumper and fresh projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights making it more aerodynamic one. The side profile remains same besides partial plastic cladding on the big flared wheel arches. The rear profile also expected to receive some updates such as tweaked bumper and revised combi tail lights.

In addition to cosmetic changes, cabin of the car has been updated to lend some fresh feeling. The seats get new upholstery with contrast stitching, new colors for the interior and instrument dials get new dials with useful multi informative display.

Apart from current range of engines i.e. 1.3l DDis and 1.6l DDis diesel engines, Maruti might bring the 1.0l booster jet or 1.5l petrol engine along with an Suzuki’s All grip AWD system and automatic gearbox to make crossover more accessible as the India’s love for automatics is evident. The new model will be priced higher than the current model which is available at Rs. 8.03 to 12.03 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
