Launch of Skoda Kodiaq: Price, Specifications and Features

Introduction:

Skoda India has launched its biggest SUV, the Skoda Kodiaq at a price tag of Rs. 34.49 lakh (Ex-showroom in India) in its first seven-seater variant. The bookings are now open at authorized dealers across 52 cities and deliveries of the car would commence from November 2017. The variant is said to compete with the already established giants of this section Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. Inspired by the Bohemian crystals the car looks pretty sharp and by its physical features it seems to be best for traveling on highways. The car is built on the same MQB platform as that of Tiguan.

Features and Dimensions:

Talking about the features of Kodiaq, it comes with LED headlamps, fog lights, LED tail lamps and 18-inch alloy wheels. Dimension wise Skoda Kodiaq is 4,697 mm in length, 1,882 mm in width and 1,676 mm in height.

Engine Details:

The Skoda Kodiaq runs on a 2.0-litre diesel engine which makes 150PS/340Nm and also comes paired to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. For fuel efficiency the car supports 16.25kmpl (ARAI-certified) and gives 188mm of ground clearance in unladen condition. The new Kodiaq also offers an all-wheel drive Haldex system. Presently, the Kodiaq is only available in a 2.0 litre diesel engine variant while next year the petrol engine is to be introduced. The Skoda Kodiaq comes with a sleep package which equips the seat with two flaps on the headrests and a set of blanket is also given if you opt for its package.

Colors:

Skoda Kodiaq is available for purchase in 4 colors that are Lava Blue, Quartz Grey, Moon White and Magic Black. The new car boats a LED ambient lighting with 10 colors that is a first-in-segment feature of the SUV

Exteriors and Interiors:

For interiors the Skoda has blind spot monitoring system and a touchscreen infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Panoramic sunroof, electronic front seats, blind spot monitoring system, heated steering wheel, and a reverse camera.The dashboard design is more upright when talking of the Kodiaq’s interiors. The new car comes gifted with a 485-watt, 10-speaker audio system from Canton. The cabin of the car has three-zone Climatronic automatic A/C with four large air vents as well as a control panel for the rear seats. The front seats can be adjusted electronically and has a memory function.

Talking of the exteriors of the SUV is given a three-dimensional radiator grille, full-LED narrow raked headlights and LED foglamps. The Kodiaq runs on an 18-inch Trinity alloy wheels and its rear-ends has a C-shaped LED tail-lamp cluster.

Safety Features:

For safety the Skoda Kodiaq features 9 airbags, ESP, parking sensors, fatigue alert, hands free parking, multi collision break and a 360 degree camera.
