Indian-spec Isuzu MU-X details revealed ahead of its official launch

The Japanese automaker Isuzu which is known for making reliable vehicles in the International market is ready to expand its range in India with MU-X SUV. Ahead of tomorrow launch, its brochure has been leaked revealing all the details of the SUV. The rugged SUV from Isuzu will take on segment rulers Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq. Likely to be available in single variant, MUX might be to be priced in the range of Rs. 25-27 lakh (ex-showroom).

The true blue SUV will be manufactured in company’s domestic plant in Andhra Pradesh. The true blue SUV will be available in four exciting colors– Orchid Brown Mica, Titanium Silver metallic, Silky White pearl and Cosmic Black Mica. At tape, it measures 4825mm in length, 1860mm in width and 1840mm in height. It rides on the wheelbase of 2845mm and offers 220mm of ground clearance.

Powering Isuzu MU-X will be a 3.0 litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which is tuned to produce 177PS power and 380Nm of high torque. The engine will be linked to a 5-speed automatic transmission with brake shift and sequential shift technology. Power will be transmitted to all wheels via all wheel drive system with shift on fly, 4*4 low and 4*4 high drive modes. The SUV is claimed to produce a fuel efficiency of 13.8 Kmpl.

Bases on D-Max pickup truck, the SUV certainly looks modern and chick flaunting sharp projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), twin slate front grille, fog lamps with chrome garnish and muscular bonnet. On the sides, it flaunts chrome door handles, 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, aluminium side steps, and silver painted roof rails. Rear gets curved windshield and LED tail lamps.

The SUV comes with range of features such as 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with eight speakers, automatic climate control, keyless entry, 6-way power adjustable driver seat, roof mounted 10-inch DVD entertainment monitor, ambient lighting and much more. As for the safety, it has dual front airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD), hill start assist (HAS), pre-tensioners with load limiters, traction control system, reverse parking camera, brake assist and electronic stability control (ESC) etc.
