As well all know, Maruti Suzuki stands as India’s leading automobile manufacturer and it has achieved thanks to array of successful budget friendly cars like Alto 800, Celerio and Wagon R. Though MSIL’s forte has been the budget segment but it tried its hands at premium segment with S-Cross, the premium crossover which turned out to be a flop show. Despite Maruti launched Baleno premium hatch and its first ever compact SUV Vitara Brezza which might be late to the party but it took the segment by storm.
India leading auto giant has been on a roll since the launch of Vitara Brezza as it has crossed 1.72 lakh bookings and sold around 65,000 units in India within 8 months. Despite ramp up of production, it still commands a healthy waiting period of 6-7 months. Recently, it clocked 10,000 units mark for the second time with 10,056 units in October, 2016. Since March 8, 2016 the SUV outsold its arch rival Ford EcoSport a number of times in monthly sales numbers.
That’s not all; Vitara Brezza has pushed MSIL to become 2nd highest UV seller in country with over 1.09 lakh units during the April-October 2016. Maruti also registered an overwhelming 139 percent growth during the same period. Current momentum might take Vitara Brezza surpass 1 lakh sales milestone within this year itself. Lately, Maruti launched customization program for the SUV called iCreate which includes five accessory packages- Sports Velocity, Sports accelerate, glamour elegance glamour glitz and Urban dynamic.
Talking about the features, it comes with Smartplay infotainment system with apple carplay, navigation, automatic climate control, steering mounted controls, leather upholstery, optional dual front airbags, reverse parking camera and much more.
The first fully home grown model packs with a tried and tested 1248cc diesel engine that belt out 88.5bhp of output@4000rpm and 200Nm of torque@1750rpm, linked to a five speed manual gearbox. It delivers best in class fuel efficiency of 24.3 Kmpl. Maruti has plans to launch its petrol version by April 2017 and it could the 1.0 litre boosterjet engine which is available with soon to be launched Baleno RS.
