The Domestic car giant Mahindra has launched the automatic variant of XUV500 1.99l in India with price starting at Rs. 14.51 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The AT is available on W6, W8 and W10 trims with front wheel drive configuration. Due to ban on a 2.0 litre above diesel engine, so to undercut it Mahindra launched the downsized engines of Scorpio and XUV500.
The Delhi NCR spec 1.99l diesel engine is the downsized version of 2.2l mhawk mill with former producing 140bhp of max power@3750rpm and 320Nm of torque between 1600-2800rpm (10Nm less than the standard version). With the latest addition, transmission options include the six speed manual and a six speed automatic.
The new Gen XUV500 sports cheetah inspired design and features automatic headlamps with S shaped LED daytime running lights, chrome embedded fog lamps, muscular bonnet with hydraulic assist, rain sensing wipers, reverse parking camera with guidelines.
As for the comfort features it is loaded with 7 inch touchscreen display with navigation and other multimedia support, beige leather seats, Electric sunroof with anti-pinch, six way power adjustable front seats, start stop button, Mahindra blue sense app, micro hybrid technology, fully automatic climate control with FATC.
The Safety segment is taken care by cruise control, six airbags, electronic stability program with roll over mitigation, hill hold and descent control, ABS with EBD etc. Moving one step ahead, Mahindra is also preparing the petrol variants of Scorpio and XUV500. Currently, the 1.99l AT variant is available for Delhi-NCR region but considering the anticipation of Ban in more states we expect 1.99l engine to be introduced in more states such as Kerala.
