Fiat has launched the pre-facelift version of Punto Evo christened as Punto Pure at the 2016 Indian expo. Priced at Rs. 4.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the petrol version and Rs. 5.59 lakh for the diesel version, the Punto Pure will be placed between Evo and Abarth in the lineup and will lock its horns against Nissan Micra Active, Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai Elite i20.

Engine details:

Known as Grande Punto in certain markets, it is available with both diesel and Petrol engines. The 1.3l Multijet diesel engine develops a max output of 75bhp@4000rpm and peak torque of 197Nm@1750rpm while petrol segment is taken care by the 1.2l FIRE SOHC engine which is good for 67bhp power@6000rpm and 96Nm of peak torque@2500rpm. Both the engines are linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Space and Dimensions:

The Punto Pure has similar dimensions as the Evo edition and it measures at 3987mm in length, 1687 mm in width and 1525 mm in height. It has a wheelbase and ground clearance of 2510mm and 185mm respectively.

Colors:

The car is offered with a three color choices which are Hip Hop Black, White and Exotica Red.

Exterior and Interior:

The Punto Pure edition is available in four trims- Active, dynamic, emotion and sport and it bears similar design cues of standard Punto with sweptback headlamps, dropped nose kind hood, multi spoke alloy wheels, black door handles and ORVMs. The Cabin boasts black and grey theme, stock 2DIN infotainment system with bluetooth, Aux-in, USB support, automatic climate control, rear ac vents, height adjustable driver seats, steering mounted controls etc.

Safety:

In terms safety, it is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, engine immobilizer and other basic aids.
