The American automaker Chevrolet has slew of launches lined up for the Indian market this year in order to grab market share in the market as it is rally lagging behind in the race to the top. The carmaker has showcased four new vehicles at the 13th edition of auto Expo- Chevrolet Cruze, Essentia sedan, Spin MPV and Beat Active crossover. We are here to talk about Beat Activ crossover which is based on the hatchback sibling.

This exciting product will the join company’s portfolio by end of this year or early 2017 and will be placed above the Beat hatchback. It will be manufactured at company’s Talegaon plant to keep the cost in check. The basic silhouette is same as the hatchback but it flaunts a new design language of the General Motors.

There is no change in the dimensions of the Crossover as it measures 3640mm in length, 1595mm wide, 1550mm tall and sits on a wheelbase of 2375mm similar to beat. The showcased concept features an elegant design as it is encased with LED headlamps with DRLs, signature spilt grille. It also gets black plastic cladding on the front bumper with integrated unique styled LED fog lamps.

Side profile updated with silver skid plates, sloping rake, roof rails, rising beltline and Pull type door handles located on the C-pillar. At rear, it gets a new tail gate, trendy LED tail lights, roof spoiler inspired by new GEN Chevrolet Spark.

On the Inside, it will get dual tone color theme with racy dashboard, 7-inch Mylink touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, 60:40 rear seat spilt, multi function steering wheel to name a few.

The Chevrolet beat Activ will be available with two engine options- 1.0 litre SmartTech diesel engine that produces 56bhp of output power and 142.5Nm of max torque while 1.2l SmartTech petrol engine is good for developing max output of 77bhp and 106.5Nm of peak torque. Powering the front wheels, both engines are matched to a five speed manual transmission.
