The last model launched by Maruti is the classy Celerio hatchback which like every other car of this company is being applauded by customers on a higher scale since its launch in February this year. The reason of its much popularity is also few newly equipped features in it like AMT (automated manual transmission) which are making the car trendier than ever.
Well, the bad news is if you are one of those very excited plenty no. of customers who are considering buying Celerio AMT then you will have to wait for long coz company has extended the estimated delivery time period of this car by approx. 8 months.
As per R C Bhargava, chairman of Maruti Suzuki India, “You are likely to get delivery only next year. Over the past week, the waiting period for the popular Celerio with AMT has crept up to seven-eight months and beyond from the earlier six months.”
Reportedly, the total bookings of this AMT Celerio have increased to 50 percent of the total 36,000 bookings so far. This AMT gearbox is being supplied currently by one overseas supplier – Magneti Marelli of Italy and as per the reports supplier seems to have difficulty this time to match with the current demand of AMT Celerio. But good news is that Magneti Marelli is planning to shift the production plant of AMT gearbox to India only in Manesar, Haryana.
As per the company, then it will be easy to match with the demands of customers in India. Further, company is also in mood to equip this popular gearbox in its upcoming new models.
Talking about this new AMT gearbox, the main reason of its popularity is it doesn’t require pressing the clutch in it which will make driving much easier in city or traffic roads.
