Seems like VW doesn’t want to stop, it is rapidly introducing its models’ new variants one-after-one, and this time we are talking about VW Vento’s TSI variant which has been launched just few months ago and appealing by Indian customers. Let’s discuss what expert reviews on this new model are.

Price:

This new variant is placed above the earlier top-end model of Vento and hence costs Rs. 18,000 more than its predecessor. But company is also stating that this extra price is worth to hike, this Vento TSI has launched with the price of 9.99 lakhs.

Engine details:

The Vento gets a new engine under its hood which is said to be more powerful than Vento’s earlier petrol engine. Though, this new TSI engine is of just 1.2 liter while earlier was 1.6 liter but still, this 4-cylinder engine is turbocharged and has capacity to produce the same 103bhp of max power like the predecessor. Additionally, the current 1.2 liter petrol engine is made of aluminum which makes it lighter than earlier and also gets a new 7-speed dual clutch DSG automatic gearbox by replacing 6-speed manual transmission.

The next thing which makes this smaller engine even better than its predecessor is its offered peak torque. Despite the smaller size of engine as well as same power, this new engine is producing much higher torque than its predecessor, i.e. 175Nm instead of 153Nm.

This lighter weight and lower displacement makes this engine more fuel efficient too. The new engine now offers an impressive mileage figure of 16.93 km/l (ARAI certified) which is better than earlier.

Space & Dimension:

It’s a spacious sedan which carries the overall dimension of 4384mm*1699mm*1466mm and offers seating capacity for five passengers. The Vento has quite appealing wheelbase of 2552mm, boot space of 454 liters and ground clearance of 168mm.

Interiors & Exteriors:

Volkswagen known for its premium quality material and luxuriant features availability and hence same is applied in this Vento too. The new variant of this sedan is as similar as its predecessor; few new equipments have been added, though. These new features including aux-in, USB, ‘Lakeside’ 185/60 R15 alloy wheels are definitely increasing the glimpse of this royal sedan.

It gets a spacious interior which easily offers a proper space to the passengers at front as well as rear.

VW Vento has an eye catching power from outside. Its classy front grille with dual horizontal slats and dusky headlamps, chrome surrounded fog lamps etc do the justice with the VW badge and makes this sedan a well demanding.

Safety & Road handling:

It has all required safety features which are also present in other variants of Vento including ABS, airbags, and electronic engine immobilizer etc. Also, some new features have been armed in this new variant which is providing this car comparatively more safety and comfort. These new features are electronic stabilization program (prevent from skidding by detecting critical handling situations), hill-hold functions (assists in driving on a slop) etc.

As per its handling and driving is concern, VW always satisfies its customers by providing a better riding and drivability. Being a little bit rigid in riding, it provides better handling on driving under definitive conditions. The well fitted suspension as well as brakes provides the Vento a balanced ride, also its steering wheel is light which offers comfortable drivability. It accelerates 0-100 km/h in just 10.8 seconds with the top speed of 185km/h.

Verdict:

VW definitely does a better mechanical change in this Vento, the engine is far better and powerful than its predecessor along with automatic transmission, also churning out the better torque and has become a more fuel efficient than earlier. Also it gets few more equipment in its interior as well as exterior. These all changes are in just Rs. 18,000 (as the new variant is 18k costly than its earlier variant) which is definitely worth to take.
