In order to refresh the current portfolio, Volkswagen has launched the special editions of Polo hatch christened as Polo Select and Vento dubbed as Vento Celeste. These special editions boast some exterior enhancements and interior add-ons over the standard models. Both the editions are based on Highline trim and will be available in limited numbers at VW dealerships across the country.
The Special Edition of Polo to cost an additional sum of Rs. 60,000/ while we expect Vento Celeste to cost Rs. 75,000 than the standard version of the sedan. Both the vehicles come with cosmetic enrichment which includes a black body moulding, black roof foil, carbon coated ORVMs, trunk garnish on the polo and trunk lip spoiler on the Vento Celeste.
On the inside, Vento special edition features a new touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and Blaupunkt, multi function steering wheel with bluetooth and audio. Both the vehicles sports new textile mats, detachable window blinds, faux carbon central console while hatch gets 4 scuff plates and new seats covers embedded with VW logo.
Under the hood, the special editions will be powered by the same range of engines; Polo will be bearing the same 1.2l MPI that develops 73bhp of power and 110Nm of peak torque and 1.5l TDI diesel engine is good for 89bhp power and 230Nm of high torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Meanwhile the Vento features with a 1.2l TSI petrol and 1.5l TDI diesel engines, linked to a 5-speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Since both the editions are based on the Highline trims, dual front airbags and ABS comes as standard along with other basic safety features. Volkswagen will soon launch Polo GTI and Polo All star edition in India.
