Toyota Yaris Sedan to make India debut at Auto Expo

Toyota Yaris Sedan

The Toyota Yaris is all set to debut at the Auto Expo and will launch later this year. Sources say the all new sedan will be a premium offering over Toyota’s own Etios Sedan. The Yaris is already present in a number of Asian markets and it is expected that the variant in India will be similar to the Singapore version. As Toyota claims best class cabins, Yaris is expected to get advantage from this fame.

Engine Details

It gets a 107hp and 1.5-litre petrol engine. There is no diesel engine variant as it cannot meet BS-VI norms that are expected to come into effect from 2020. The Yaris Sedan is likely to come with a five-speed manual as standard and there will also be an option of 7-step CVT.

Exterior and Interior

Talking about its exteriors the Yaris is 4,425mm in length and 2,550mm in wheelbase, making it shorter than its key rivals. Toyota seems to have worked on its look as the car gets adventurous styling details, especially at the front. The sedan gets swept-back headlamps which makes it much similar to the larger Corolla in looks. The style element of this new Yaris would be a bonnet ‘V’ that flows down to bisect the grille. The car also gets a larger air dam on the bumper with well-defined fog lamps.

For the interiors, the dashboard gets a nice styled finish and comes with touchscreen positioned high up. It has chunky steering wheels, chrome-ringed dials and silver accents. The cabin treatments and colors it would get are still not known for the Indian variant.

Price

The price for the Toyota Yaris is expected to range from INR 8.5 lakh to 11 lakh.

Carrying a reasonable price tag and with a brand value of Toyota, the Yaris is a sensible option to buy for mid-size sedan buyers.
