Toyota Kirloskar motors have announced the price hike of its most Popular SUVs- Innova Crysta and Fortuner by up to 2 percent from May 2017. The price rise in response to compensate the hike in prices of commodities especially metals. Also in January 2017, the company had increased the prices of all its products by up to 3 percent. The carmaker has not increased prices of its other cars such as Etios Liva, Platinum Etios, Etios Cross, Corolla Altis, Camry, Land Cruiser Prado and Land Cruiser.
The Innova Crysta range between Rs. 13.73 to Rs. 20.95 lakh but after one percent price rise it now starts at Rs. 14.2 lakh and goes up to Rs. 21.4 lakh. Similarly, Toyota Fortuner is offered between Rs. 25.92 to Rs. 31.12 lakh but after the marginal price increase the new Fortuner now starts Rs. 26.66 lakh while top variant cost at Rs. 31.86 lakh. All given prices are of ex-showroom Delhi.
Launched in 2016, Toyota Innova Crysta a premium MPV is offered in three engines– 2.7 litre petrol (164bhp and 250Nm), 2.4l (148bhp and243Nm) and 2.8 litre diesel (172bhp and 360Nm) engines. Transmission duties are taken care by a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Toyota Fortuner, the beast of a SUV is powered by 2.7l petrol (164bhp and 245Nm) and a 2.8l diesel engine (175bhp and 420Nm) linked to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
