Tata Nano created a lot of buzz when it was launched for the first time but it hasn’t set sales chart on fire since its launch. Tata Nano which is cheapest priced car in the world found hard to attract large numbers of buyers towards it despite of its price. Tata Nano faced early problems in steering, vibration of body even on moderate speed and unconventional placement of engine etc.
Competition is growing harder with each day passing by, manufactures are trying their level best to offer their products in affordable price bracket like Maruti have done by launching the cheapest automatic car till date Alto K10 and it is receiving fair amount of bookings and being appraised by many.
Tata Nano is more sort of a hyped car than the performance oriented one, despite of the fact that it is the most affordable car in the world. Tata will be adding one card to their collection by launching Nano Twist XE model next month and Tata will axe the two variants i.e. CX and LX. Tata Nano twist XE will be placed below the XT model which means Tata Nano will be available in two trims- Nano twist XE and Nano Twist XT and Tata will continue to sell the CNG variant of Nano- E-Max.
In terms of changes the biggest one will be EPAS (electric power assisted steering) which is now standard on all Nano variants, Nano XE will have bigger steering wheel on offer, Central locking, Updated music system with USB and bluetooth support, updated instrument cluster with MFD (Multi function display) like trip meter, digital clock etc. and remaining features will be same as soon to be discontinued Nano CX model. Apart from that Nano twist will available in three new shades – Royal Gold, Serene White and Meteor Silver.
Mechanically, it will continue to get same 624cc twin cylinder petrol engine which produces 38BHP power and 51Nm torque based on rear wheel drive system. There is also a rumor about the AMT version of Nano which is also on the cards of being launched but there is no confirmation yet about its launch, we can expect an AMT version of Nano in December which will make it the cheapest automatic car by beating Alto K10 and Maruti Celerio.
