Skoda has finally launched the Rapid Monte Carlo edition in India which is available in both petrol and diesel engines. The new edition has been introduced in the price range between Rs. 10.75 lakh and Rs. 13.57 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom Delhi). The Monte Carlo edition comes at a premium of Rs. 50,000 over the top variant and comes with some cosmetic changes. In International markets, Monte Carlo edition is available with Rapid, Fabia and Citigo while it’s for the first time Skoda has launched this limited edition in India.
The Rapid Mote will be available in two dual tone colours: white with black roof and red with black roof. In terms of changes, it comes with front radiator grille, 16- black alloy wheels, Monte Carlo badges, black ORVMs and black tailgate etc.
The Cabin has also been given slightly different look owing to 3-spoke flat bottom multi function steering wheel, black perforated seats and gearbox with red stitching, red/black design with grey vertical stripes. In addition, it also gets graphics on the instrument cluster and ribbed stainless steel pedals. It also features dual front airbags, cruise control, ABS, rear parking sensors, central locking system with remote control, hill hold assist, electronic stability control etc.
Under the hood of Monte Carlo Edition is the same petrol and diesel engines of the standard model. The petrol features 1.6l DOHC MPI engine that makes 103bhp power and 153Nm of Torque while diesel has a 1.5l TDI engine that churns out 108bhp power and 250Nm Torque. Both engines are linked to a manual and DSG automatic gearbox.
