As we know, Skoda India will launch 2017 Octavia sedan in India soon. According to reports, dealers have started accepting bookings for the new Octavia for a booking amount range between Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1 lakh. The launch is likely to take place in the first week of June while deliveries are likely to commence in the last week of the launch month. Besides, Skoda has also started accepted bookings for Octavia vRS which is expected to launch by June end.
Some dealerships are offering 100 percent refund on booking amount in case customer decides not to go for the sedan. In addition, even if you pre-book the sedan you have to wait for at least 2 months as it is likely to have decent demand. Skoda has been brand’s bestselling sedan in International markets as it has sold over 5 million units in two decades.
The 2017 Octavia comes with revised exteriors and some added features. It flaunts a wider butterfly grille with chrome garnish, Split LED headlamps, revised front bumper with horizontal LED fog lamps and wide air dam. Side profile remains same save for the new alloy wheels while rear comes with a revised bumper and new LED taillights.
The cabin will remain pretty much same in terms of design, however, it would get new upholstery, new MID for the instrument cluster and bigger 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and reverse parking camera assistance. For safety, it would sport eight airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill start assist to name a few.
There will be no mechanical changes on the 2017 Octavia; it will continue to power the current powertrain options- 1.4l TSI petrol (6-speed manual), 1.8l TSI petrol (7-speed DSG) and a 2.0l TDI (6-speed automatic).
Skoda Octavia vRS will be powered by 2.0l TSI petrol that makes 226bhp power and 350Nm of torque. Powering front wheels is a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. Octavia vRS will be brought to the country via CBU route and will be priced tag around Rs. 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
